Pakistan

Hundreds of people were killed by

the torential monsoon floods and

many more are now dying from the

lack of food and people and animals

are forced to use the same

contaminated water.

Dead animals in the water, sewerage

and other Detritus make the water

undrinkable  - but if you are thirsty

you take the chance. Floodwater

spread over much of the southern

Sindh province engulfing villages

and crops, destroying lives

and infrastructure.

The numbers affected by the torrential monsoon rains are staggering. It

is estimated that more than 7.5m people have been affected, and the figure

is thought to rise. The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) estimate

that about three million are critically short of food. More than a million houses

have been damaged or destroyed, and almost 4m acres (1.6m ha) are under

water.

The flooding follows floods last year but you can't compare the two. Last year

the flooding came from the Indus River, this year it's from the rains, but the

result is the same.

Feed The Children (UK) has responded to this crisis as we did last year and

has sent water purification equipment donated by Rotary Aquabox.

Please help us to provide aid and water purification

equipment to these people in distress.

Please send in your gift today – any amount you can give would make such

a difference.

£10 would help to deliver £100 of life saving aid.

Please give what you can, either by sending a cheque or by donating online
or become a longer term partner and give a regular amount each month.

Yours Sincerely
